Retreats
A retreat offers the fullest experience of Chorosophy, unfolding in places where history, landscape, and movement meet. Held in Greece — often in Delphi, with its sacred history, or on the island of Ikaria, known for its living dance traditions and longevity— retreats bring participants into direct contact with the environment that inspired much of ancient Greek art and ritual.
Days are structured around practice and rehearsal, with mornings devoted to physical training and afternoons to creative exploration, improvisation, or preparation for a performance. Evenings often open into community gatherings, shared meals, and reflection. Beyond technique, retreats cultivate a sense of belonging: to oneself, to the group, and to the lineage of dance that stretches back to antiquity.
Performances are sometimes created as the culminating point of a retreat, offered in meaningful sites or natural landscapes. These moments allow participants to embody what they have learned and to share it with others — a gesture that echoes the communal spirit of ancient festivals. Retreats are both an inner journey and an outer adventure, leaving dancers with a profound sense of renewal.
