01

What is Chorosophy?

Chorosophy is an academy founded by Arsinoe Lilly Karadima, dedicated to the revival of sacred dance inspired by ancient Greek philosophy, myth, and ritual. It offers workshops, retreats, and seminars focused on movement as an embodied spiritual and artistic practice.

02

Who can participate? Do I need dance experience?

No prior dance training is required. Chorosophy welcomes all movement backgrounds and all ages. Whether you are a dancer, performer, healer, or simply someone seeking a deeper connection with your body and soul, you are warmly invited.

03

What kind of dance is taught?

Chorosophy explores movement through a fusion of archaic ritual dance, contemporary somatic practices, mythic archetypes, and poetic improvisation. It is not focused on traditional technique or performance but on embodied awareness, symbolic gesture, and inner experience.

04

Is this a religious practice?

Chorosophy is not affiliated with any religion.
It is a sacred and philosophical approach to movement inspired by ancient Hellenic culture, temple traditions, and the universal human need for meaning, connection, and ritual.

While many of its dances, ritual gestures, and symbols draw inspiration from ancient Greek religion and mythology, Chorosophy does not represent or promote a religion, nor does it function as a religious cult.

Instead, it explores dance as a living art form that reconnects participants with timeless qualities of the human spirit: balance, vitality, celebration, and harmony.

Chorosophy offers an inclusive practice, open to people of all ages and backgrounds, who wish to experience movement not only as physical training but as a pathway to artistic, cultural, and personal growth.

05

Where are the classes and retreats held?

Workshops and retreats take place in Greece and abroad, in both urban and natural settings. Some are held in movement studios, while others take place in historical, open-air, or sacred sites aligned with the spirit of the work.

Upcoming locations and dates are shared on the website, newsletter, and social media.

06

What should I bring or wear to a workshop or retreat?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. You will mainly dance barefoot. Sometimes simple chitons are provided. Specific guidance is given for each event.

07

Can I book you for a private workshop or collaboration?

Yes. Arsinoe Lilly Karadima offers custom-designed workshops, collaborations, and guest teaching for festivals, cultural programs, educational institutions, and artistic residencies. You can reach out via the contact form or email.

08

Is Chorosophy offering certifications or long-term training?

Yes. Chorosophy offers a long-term educational path through cycles of teachings that deepen over time. These cycles include thematic modules rooted in sacred dance, mythology, ritual movement, and embodiment.

Students who complete the full training cycle are eligible to receive a certification recognized by the International Dance Council (CID) – UNESCO. This credential affirms your participation in a serious and comprehensive study of sacred dance.

More information on the structure and schedule of the cycles is available upon request or during the introduction of each program.
